Mum's Birthday card

Phew!
Four days of dancing! Haven't done that much in a long, long while. From Southend to Hatfield to Palmers Green.

Today's card is in memory of my lovely mum. She died in 2013 and I miss her so, so much. I keep it all flat, so that I can laminate it. I write her a little letter on the back. She would have been 85 tomorrow

After she died, when clearing her flat, I found a box containing all of the cards I had made for her, birthday,Christmas, Mother's Day, Thank You cards etc.
I chose the image because she was thrilled when she moved closer to me that she gained a separate bedroom and a balcony. Her previous warden controlled place was being demolished and re-built. She had a bed-sit within the complex. That particular council never put single people into warden controlled complexes that had bedrooms! She loved to sit on her balcony and watch the world go by and listen to the birdsong. I also use a new product to "show" her.
Daft I know but it helps.
If anyone is going to AP on Sunday, let me know
Thank you for visiting and I do value your comments and for taking the time to join in the dance. See you Thursday afternoon

  5. Hi Karen,

This is gorgeous, so lovely and what a fabulous idea to still make cards for her, she would love it.

Have a great evening, hope you are not too sore after all that dancing?

  6. Karen, what a lovely card, and lovely thought. I also lost my Mum in 2013, still hurts, doesn't it. I don't make her a card, but have a birthday card she made me at a craft class she went to before the dementia stopped all her crafting. I treasure that, and put it out on my birthday each year.

  7. Karen it is not daft it is lovely and I completely understand where you are coming from - my Mum died when I was 21 and my Dad in 2004 and that Christmas I bought a Christmas card for Mum & Dad (I didn't make cards then) it wa the first I had been able to buy for them both for all those years and just something I wanted to do - so no explanations needed xx love the card and so will your Mum xx sending hugs xx GailT xx

  10. Beautiful card & such a lovely idea. My Mum passed away in 2013-she was only 68 and I used to show her all the things i'd bought & made.

  11. Good morning Karen, such a lovely card. I have bought this die but not actually used it yet so thank you for sharing your mum's birthday card with us all - and no, you are not daft. I'm sorry I am not going to get to AP at the weekend , it would have been nice to meet up but perhaps another time, best wishes Jackie xx

  12. Hi Karen,
This is beautiful, and I thought I was the only one who did this. I either make her a Mother's Day card or a birthday card, write a little note on them and keep them in a box. Mam died 2nd April, 1980 and I still miss her.
I won't be going to AP as it's too far and too expensive at the moment, but I'm going away in October! Have a good time on Sunday.
