It's my birthday today...

...so I have scheduled this post. So really it's 9pm on Wednesday evening and haven't opened any cards yet except this one. It is from a friend that is a "Parcher"  and is truly amazing! I had a go at this art once and found it very difficult. If any of you do it, I take my hat off to you. It seems very time consuming and when I did it, after all of the pricking I managed to "snip" it in the wrong place! It look like she has "pricked" and "snipped" the backing papers and card blank too. It must have taken forever to do. I don't think the photographs do it justice really.
OH has got something up his sleeve as to what we're going to do, he's good at springing surprises!
Thank you for popping by and if you can, I love to see your comments.

What do you think, gorgeous isn't it?
As I don't know what OH has planned, I cannot say what I'll be up to, am I going out for a meal, have I got to pack an overnight bag, are we going shopping? Who knows.
See you Saturday
xx

  1. Happy birthday Karen.
Thought I'd pop in day hello
It looks amazing. I wouldn't have the patience for doing the parchment paper but it does look fab. I'll stick to just card making lol

  2. Hi Karen this is a stunning card. I hope you had a great time on your birthday. Did you know that Barbara Gray had developed Groovie plates that make parchment craft much easier? Have a great time away. Hugs Jackie

  7. hi Karen and belated happy birthday. I didn't get around to visiting yesterday and missed it so I hope you had a super time. I did some basic parchment with my ladies a few years ago and one or two of them carried on with it and went to some classes and more or less teaching each other as they went and now do such exquisite work. Off for a whole weekend crafting with my friends. 8 of us have booked a big house in the middle of nowhere about an hour away so not too far to drive and will craft away fortified by the odd glass or two. We are all leading two projects but I don't think there will be much card making. I know there is beading, sewing and home décor because of the list of things we have to bring but other than that it is a mystery. Have a great weekend, best wishes Jackie x

  8. Hi Karen
Just playing catch up again after a testing couple of weeks.
Hope you had a wonderful birthday (still can't believe that your not early 40s)
This parchment is just stunning. Not something I've tried and certainly don't think I could achieve anything that would look anywhere near as wonderful as this.
    Have a great weekend.
    Ang x
