All of my friends and family know I am an avid knitter and years ago I promised myself that I would knit shawl for my first grandchild. I had in the past, finished a couple that other people had started but for one reason or another weren't able to complete them. I thoroughly enjoyed doing it, whether I'd make another one is another matter. I don't know if my daughter will ever use it - these days they're walked out of hospital in a car seat. They're not allowed to leave hospital if the baby is not securely looked after in the car. But she was thrilled with it and has said it will be a beautiful keepsake

My promised gift to my first grandchild
Hello everyone Thank you for coming along. It is a scheduled post as my laptop is still being fixed. Today I am showing the shawl I made for Oscar. It is a fairly old knitting patttern and made with 3ply yarn.
