I am not sharing an oldie today

Dear All

Thank you for your lovely comments. I value the feedback and enjoy reading what you have to say.

I am not posting a card/project today because today is the seventh anniversary of my son's death. He was born with a heart condition and after several operations, it was decided he needed a heart transplant. Sadly, he became too ill to be considered. I wish I could find photos (they're on here somewhere!) of when he was a happy ,healthy, bonny child. He was lucky enough to do a job he loved and his ashes are with his beloved lemurs at Paradise Wildlife Park. He has a public page on Facebook where there are many moving tributes to this wonderful man. My heart bursts with pride to know how well loved he was. Sleep well son xxx

Craft Rocket Challenge Number 29 - Winter Time

Hello Everyone

Today is the start of the new Craft Rocket Challenge It runs from today until 7th December. It is the last one for this year. So why not join in. It's just for fun and a chance to showcase a new project - so no back linking please. It can be anything you've made as long as it follows the theme.
I chose to make a Christmas card, an obvious choice really! It is a very simple one and easy for batch making and is relatively flat for posting. I was crafting late at night when I started making this and the "snow" on the rooftops became clear microbeads and not Diamond Snow glitter as I intended! Fortunately I corrected myself when I made the roses and leaves!
Ingredients
6x6 card blank made ith silky blue card from my stash
Image form Serif digikit - Hearts and Roses Christmas
Sue Wilson - Christmas roses
Sue Wilson - Tag - Spanish Collection- Granada

My oldie for Fffriday

Dear All
It's the week end already. This week has flown by. On Tuesday I went to Watford and met up with some ladies that blog on Cotswold Crafter. This is a lovely blog, where we share projects, ideas, hints and tips. It was like meeting up with old friends. We had lunch and chatted, laughed for hours. A very enjoyable day

So,although it's Saturday I am posting my oldie for Friday as inspired by Erika at Snappycrafts. Christmas is so close now that I thought I'd show a Christmas card I made in 2014. It is still one of my favourite Art Deco images. If I was to reproduce it today, I would be using mats and layers on the smaller images, real ribbon and something like Tonic Nuvo drops for the bling

Ingredients
6x6 card blank
My Craft Studio - Art Deco Festive Follies
gold and red card from stash
gold coloured gems

Happy Birthday to my Aunt

hello Everyone

I hope you are keeping well.I was sorry to read that MRS DUCK has had some more health issues recently and hope you are now on the mend.

I have loved playing with my Cutterpillar. It does cut brilliantly and providing you've "butted" it up properly,it cuts perfectly straight.  I have two very minor issues with it. I would have loved to have had the measurements across the top in a different colour. It's very difficult to see green on green - just like the Hougie board, if any of you have one of those. So easily remedied (I think!) by "sweeping" a Sharpie over the top of the numbers.
My second issue is that I would have liked a couple of inches measurement on the other side of the blade for trimming DOWN mats eg when doing pyamage, and layers but I'll get used to that. Having the light is brilliant and it does cut beautifully

On to today's card. I made this card for my aunt, her birthday is on Sunday. I lie how it has turned out BUT I was trying to copy a technique I saw on one of the recent Spellbinder shows where the demonstrator cut pattern shaped die pieces off the edge and then paper pieced with a different colour/tone. But to be honest, the colours I chose I could have left it "whole" and just stuck the flowers on top. I need to post it, so it is fairly flat (apart from the few pearls) Perhaps if I'd mounted the flowers on foam etc it would have worked better....
Ingredients
6x6 card blank - I am posting it!
Spellbinder Square Matting Basics
Sue Wilson Closed Petal Daisies

My oldie for Fffriday

Hello Everyone
Thank you for visiting. This week has just flown by and it has got sooo cold! I don't like extreme heat but I definitely don't like the cold. Latest update on the saga of my glasses. I'm still struggling with this second prescription and so I have to have another eye test - booked for next week. The optician also tested  for dry eye, which apparently I have quite badly, which may also be affecting my sight. So, now using drops to moisten them.So we'll see what happens. It is a bit frustrating especially for work and crafting!

My oldie, as inspired by Erika at Snappycrafts It's an opportunity to share and old project just for fun, Today I thought I'd show a brighter card I made last year as the weather is so dismal. Another very simple card. All of the dies are Sue Wilson's from Creative Expressions. I must get those daisy dies out and play with again!

Have you got anything planned for the week end. My husband is working tomorrow, so I may just craft! I treated myself to a Cutterpillar Crop with some birthday money I was lucky to receive. I'll be putting it through it's paces and make a few Christmas cards

MAWTT Challenge 32 Cute Animals

Hello Everyone

Thank you for your comments and birthday wishes. I had a lovely birthday and gorgeous gifts. I feel very lucky and privileged to have such a wonderful family and friends. One of my gifts was a trip into London to stay in a lovely hotel on Sunday. After a dance workshop, Sunday afternoon, off we went. We went dancing at a local Salsa bar that evening, which was great fun. I think it was one of the few  occasions that I dance more than my husband - there is a long standing private joke there! On Monday we did a bit of shopping - well I mean, Oxford St was just around the corner - no craft shops though! On Monday evening we went to the theatre and saw "Motown the Musical" it was brilliant, right up my street, being an avid Motown fan. The girl playing Diana Ross was brilliant, but there again, all of the cast were brilliant.

At last I have managed to get a little ahead of myself and enter a challenge! I was intending to show this card and it happened to fit the current MAWTT challenge here This fortnight's theme, Cute Animals runs until 9th November 2016.
