Craft Rocket Challenge Number 25 Ribbon and/or Lace

Hello All.
Today's post is the latest Craft Rocket Challenge The them is Ribbon and or/Lace. So over the next fortnight you are invited to enter/post a new project following the above theme - no backdating please. I'd love to see your names on the entries. I did notice JACKIE's name on the last one.

This challenge threw me a bit because I have never used lace on a card and the only ribbon/bows I have added to cards have been paper/card ones as almost a focal point on the card.
A few weeks ago another blog Cotswold Crafter posted this idea and as I needed to make a card for a friend, knowing this challenges needed ribbon or lace I thought I'd give it a go and I was very pleased at how it has turned out
Ingredients
5x7 card blank
Sue Wilson Pierced Noble background dies (my new favourite as they're for 5x7 card size)
white and green cardstock
Crafters Companion EF
Patterned paper created in Serif (it is double sided, it's pale pink on the reverse)
Sentiment printed in Serif
Tonic - circle dies

My oldie for Ffffiday!

Hello everyone. I hope that life is being kind to you. It is for me at the moment. The weather is still sunny but not so warm (my kind of weather). I have already used the Sue Wilson Noble Background Rectangles three times this week. They'll definitely become one of my go to dies because I do tend to make 5x7 cards. It also says on the packaging that they fit the CE background dies but I haven't double checked that. If this is the case, I'll be using them time and time again.

My oldie today is a Christmas card I made three years ago. It was very simple to do and used I the first die sets I bought
Have a great week end and thank you for visiting. I appreciate the trouble you take to visit and I love to hear your feedback
Ingredients
6x6 card blank
Serif - 'Tis the Season digikit
Sizzix Snowflake (given to me by a fellow crafting friend)

Ally Pally

Hello All
I did have a great day at Ally Pally and spent far too much money - I think I am going to have to wait until next year before I spend anything else for craft, but then it is my birthday next month and there's Christmas too...
You made me smile, MRS DUCK with your reference to HUGS and LOVE (dies) I didn't buy them but I did get a free hug from John Lockwood! He was so helpful too, running off to get me a basket because I had my hands full of Pixie Powders and other goodies. Helping me choose which colours to start with - he knows I love blue!
I also met JACKIE, you lovely lady. She helped me with my purchases, she realised that I'd accidentally picked up two sets of dies by mistake and kindly put them back on the stand. We talked weddings, as she was looking for items for her daughter's and I may be doing the same next year... I also managed to speak with Wendy from Spain and we swapped grandchildren photos. The day went far too quickly
I hope you are feeling better JENNY, bugs can be nasty debilitating things.
So, here goes this is what I bought. I daren't total it all up! Some items are missing because I wanted to buy one of the clock kits from Indigo Blue to make as a Christmas present for my sister in law. They hadn't bought any with them but they let me order it all and will post it to me. In my defence I bought a few bits for my MIL as well, , a couple of Christmas decoupage packs.

Kraft card
CE Watercolour card
CE Pack with Christmas stamps, mdf trees, gilding polish, embossing powder, bakers twine and tidy tray - a real bargain
pearls
Christmas Rose stamps, dies and gilding polish - all John Lockwood's fault
CE Pixie Powders
CE glue
Ultimate Crafts - Rose die
SB Flights of Fancy and Oval dies
SW Swirling Stars die
SW new Background dies
Some (not all) SW New Arrivals dies (could not resist those)
I think that's it and of course Indigo Blue products for the clock

It is a fabulous show, and spoke to lots of the stall holders who are all so helpful and informative, special thanks to John, Phill Martin, Julia Watts, Jenny Marple from Indigo Blue along with Kay and her husband. Bev from Honey Be, in fact everybody. I cannot wait for April. I must get a piggy bank and start saving!

My Oldie for Ffffriday

Hello All
Thank you again for your lovely well wishes about the Fun Run. We go to honour Gary, so we get a bit emotional but we have fun too. As Gary needed a heart transplant but became too ill, to be considered, I am always amazed at the transplantees (Hamsters) at their achievements. There is even a Transplant Games (like the Olympics) where competitors from all over the world take part.

Saturdays are when I post an oldie inspired by Erika at Snappycrafts whee she invites you to post and old project blogged or not. It's lovely to remember our older projects and the memories they evoke.
Today I am posting a box I made for a friend whose on was getting married and the bride wanted shallow boxes for the bridesmaid's gifts

Have a great week end. I'm off to Ally Pally tomorrow. It's a great Craft show with lots of enticing products. I wonder how much will fall into my basket...

Craft Rocket Challenges #24 Mostly Blue

Hello Everyone

Before I start, with this post I just wanted to thank PIA, BRENDA and VAL for popping by and to say the FUN RUN went very well. The weather was lovely sunny, dry with a little breeze to keep us cool whilst we ran, walk, toddledaround the course.
Today I am showing my design for the above challenge at Craft Rocket Challenges This challenge is to showcase a new project that has blue as its main colour, please take a look at the other designer's work and why not have a go yourself. It would be lovely to see some familiar names appear.
I made this for a friend and decided to use this image thinking, that a birthday, especially a milestone birthday is the perfect excuse to go shopping - as if us ladies need an excuse!

Ingredients
5x7 card blank
MCS image - Fabulous Fifties and for the mannequin - Floral Masterpiece (I think)
Blue card from my stash
Kraft card
Tattered Lace - Flourish die
X-Cut Sewing die - mannequin

An Oldie for Ffffriday

Good morning everyone
Thank you for your kind thoughts about Gary. We all miss him like crazy. He was one of the most kind and thoughtful people out there and like most young men he liked to party. He did a job he loved - and who of us can honestly say we do/did that.He claimed he was going to be a zoo keeper at the age of 4 and that's exactly what he did.
So as it's my day to post an oldie as inspired by  Erika at Snappycrafts, I thought I'd show an oldie of a birthday card that I made for a friend of mine that shares his name. The version for MY Gary was completely flat. This version is more 3D and my first "play" with layouts
Let's hope the weather clears up for tomorrow - it's "chucking it down" here.
Have a great week end everyone

This Sunday - it's that time of year!

Hello Everyone

I'm getting my head around the new laptop, although at some points I really wanted to throw it out of the window!! Windows 10 or not! I am scheduling this as I am out with my daughter when this goes live. I promise to post a picture of Oscar when I've plucked up the courage to "plug" in my camera and iPod

Oooh JACKIE! all those hats, well done to you and your friends - I would have hoped you would have received an acknowledgement at the very least for sending over 250 hats in. What a shame. It almost puts you off joining in again doesn't it. I tried to get more people involved at work, and although it inspired a lot of people to get their knitting needles out again - it wasn't very fruitful!

Today's post isn't craft. Instead it is a photo of Team Gary, we (Gary's family and friends) enter a team into Harefield Hospital's Fun Run every year and it's on this Sunday (11th). Hopefully most of the people in the photo will be there again. This is the 8th year we have taken part.At its largest, the team was 17 strong, but many of his friends have moved too far away or due to work commitments can't always come now  When Gary was alive we hadn't realised that this event takes place every year or we would have taken part with Gary being at the front of the queue.

His outpatient appointments usually occurred immediately after the date and always thought that we were missing one off events - Hey Ho

Let's hope the weather will be kind to us
xx

Oldie for Fffriday

Well, what can I say, Do I like my new laptop .....no not at the mo! The company that set it up will have to have it back because half of my photos are missing and all of my Serif projects and some digikits have gone astray. Anyway, it'll get sorted
I can see what you mean MRS DUCK, my last card does resemble the German flag, the card is definitely blue, gold, red and white, not a hint of black anywhere! But another idea to consider... someone going abroad or travelling could have HAPPY travels and colours of the flag of the country they are visiting! And Oscar is absolutely thriving, the time is flying by, he is now 4 months old! Photos will be shown, when I get sorted

Today's oldie, inspired by Erika at Snappycrafts. She invites you to post an old crafty make, whether blogged or not. My oldie is/are the Innocent Smoothie  http://www.thebigknit.co.uk/hats friends/colleagues/myself made for their Age UK campaign a few years ago. I have carried it on and will make a few for this years. This particular year we sent 40+ and the following year we sent 60 plus for this worthwhile campaign.
The photos of the individual hats are a few of my makes

Craft Rocket Challenge ( #23) I'm back!

I have mynew laptop! But it's a little bit scary! Partly because it's new and partly because it's Windows 10
This fortnights challenge at Craft Rocket Challenge is "Anything Goes"
My design is a birthday card I made for my future son in law's birthday yesterday He is a massive Tottenham Hotspur footie fan In the past I have made him cards with the usual football/Spurs ideas and I really didn't know what to make this time (I have done the beer theme too)
I saw a sample on a recent John Lockwood for Creative Expressions and it sparked an idea

I used my new favourite die set - Sue Wilson's Perspective range I cut the HAPPY in navy card using the word and smaller frame I then mounted it onto white card using the larger frame from the set. I cut the flags in the team's new strip colours - clean and simple and will use this idea for other male football mad friends. Next time I will arrange the flags differently, as if they're tails of a rosette. Finished card is 5x7 inches.

I hope that you are all well and thank you for your support and patience. Over the next few days I will endeavour to catch up with your blogs. I will be scolling back on my own blog to see if any of you have left questions that need answering
Take care
