My oldie for Ffffriday

Dear All
Thank you for visiting. I am going to make this brief as my laptop is poorly (again) and I'm scheduling a few posts. If I go off the radar for a few occasions, please forgive me, I will be back and perhaps on this laptop or perhaps on a new laptop, we'll have to see. I can't link this post to the site but it is inspired by Erika at Snappycrafts. Please take a look at her blog. I love her Saturday posts
This is a favourite card of mine that I made for my mum, I placed this on her grave. I kept it flat so that I could laminate it to protect it from the elements for a while

Happy Birthday Son

Another scheduled post I'm afraid, whilst my laptop is being fixed. Welcome to SONIA for pressing the follow button, thank you.
Today should be our son's 36th birthday but sadly lost his fight with heart disease nearly 7 years ago We still place a card at his grave He was a zoo keeper and looked after the monkeys Some of his ashes are with his beloved lemurs My husband always writes beautiful poetry and this is the one for this year's card. I kept it all flat because I laminate it to prevent it from the elements for a few days

Ingredients

Oldie for Fffriday

I cannot believe it's the week end already! as much as I love the sunshine and warmth, I am wilting a bit. Thank you all for your kind comments I do appreciate and read every single one. Apologies if I don't make indiviuak replies but laptop is poorly and I'm rushing to post before it crashes
So, today is my day for showing an oldie. This is inspired by the lovely Erika at Snappycrafts. Don't laugh but as it's the end of the school year, I thought I'd show again my scrapbook page I created in Serif for a project we did at my local Craft Club! The theme was "School Days". This is my first school photo taken in about 1900 and frozen solid. My dad had made my school cardigan and my little sister (bless her) had decided at some point to colour my eyes with pencil. Of course all of the photos back then were in black and white. I always loved school and wanted to do my best. I loved to colour in and was always proud to get a gold star from my teacher (I was only five) My dad was a draughtsman and so the stencil is in homage to him and the elastic bands are in homage to my my mum, no "posh" scrunchies then! In essence there's a little bit about all of my family on the page. Have a great week end xxx

Craft Rocket Challenges Day - Number 20 Spots and/or Stripes

Hello Everyone
Thank you for visiting and if you're able to leave a comment, thank you. I read them all and value your feedback
Today's challenge is all about Spots and/or Stripes. Why not take a look at Craft Rocket challenges here and join in if you can. I'd love to see your work being showcased. I decided to use a Birthday card I made for my great-niece. She is 17 and I  was a little unsure what to make. I'd gone down the shopping/shoes/music route previously. So I made this. I think she'll like it as it is quite classy and "does what it says on the tin" I simply matted the patterned card onto black card. Cut the mannequin twice, once in kraft card and once in a smaller pattern of the background design and snipped off the dress and placed on top of the kraft card mannequin. I personalised the inside with a simple message to her

Ingredients
5x7 card blank
black cardstock
Kraft card
Patterned card created in Serif
X-cut Sewing die
Presscut by Crafts to "Happy Birthday"
black bling

Oldie for Ffffriday

Hello everyone
I'm scheduling this because I'm off out dancing tonight (Friday) and just know it'll be a late night. I love to see your comments, it helps me to review my work and value your feedback.

My card today, inspired by Erika from Snappycrafts is an Engagement card that I made, a couple of years ago, for a friend to give. I cannot remember where the image is from. I can only assume it is a place that is memorable to the happy couple. It is a variation of other Engagement/Wedding cards I have done, last years Anniversary card to my husband here which is similar.
Why not join in and post an oldie your yours whether or not you have already posted it on your blog. Take a look at Saturday's post Erika puts up, they are crafty funnies and they really make me smile.
On sunday we are going to a friend's salsa event. They have moved to a new venue and it has a Hollywood theme, so I'll be raiding my fancy dress cupboard for something to wear!

Image and sentiment printed on laptop and manipulated in Serif ie faded main image and printed again at full "strength" hope that makes sense

I've entered a challenge!

Hello everyone
Thank you for calling and your comments. I had a fabulous week end. My daughter and I went to see Mark Anthony at the O2 It was amazing and as most of the audience was Latino we were dancing in our seats - boy the Latinos know how to party! One lady asked why were we there, realising we were British and we just said that we dance Salsa. She gave my daughter a huge hug! The gentleman seated behind me, tapped me on the shoulder and he partnered me in a salsa. Not easy when you're on different levels but it was great
Now, today's card I am going to enter into a challenge. I don't do this very often and actually had something new to use. Most of the time I look at challenges and think of older stuff that I could use. So, this is going to be entered in Moving Along With The Times which the current theme is "No Designer Papers" I was inspired by a Die Cutting Essentials magazine example.

I'm going to finis this quick because a)blogger is playing me up and b) my laptop is poorly again - it's overheating and crashing
Ingredients
5x7 card blank
shade of lilac card

Oldie for Fffriday

Hello Everyone

I just want to say thank you for all of your lovely comments Thank you to ERIKA for pressing the follow button, if ever I've forgotten to thank any of you for pressing the follow button I am sorry. I can only say that with the impending and arrival of young Oscar I've been quite busy. I really appreciate it. Today's oldie as inspired by Erika at Snappycrafts. It's a time to post and old project of anything you have created, whether you have posted it or not. This card must be one of the very first cards I made for my mum for her sister. It has to be at least five years old. I don't think I even used a die to cut the sentiment but a board and cutter that sat in a groove on a shape. The name escapes me. It was inspired by the lovely Kay Rutter of Hougie board fame, which I use all of the time for scoring. I have even used peel offs which doesn't seem to be as popular these days. I even made a box - woo go me! I was probably not very pleased with the box because I haven't made boxes until very recently

Ingredients
A4 card
Tonic Petal pairs punches
Dodgy cheap ink pad

Craft Rocket Challenge Number 19 - Anything goes

Hello Everyone. Thank you for popping by and if you can leave a comment, then, thank you again. I read them all and value your feedback. Today's card is my design for Craft Rocket Challenges The theme for this fortnight is "Anything Goes" And as the name suggests it can be any crafty project. It doesn't have to be a card because there aren't any sponsors for these challenges. Why not have a go, all we ask is that you don't back date your entry.
My card was made for a work colleague who is a huge fan of Glastonbury and whose birthday is close to event. In fact he just enjoys music and usually goes to a gig/concert at least once a week. As the card was for my personal use I used an image from Google. I used it as a background for the Happy Perspective die set made by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions. He was thrilled to bits as I'd truly personalised it. Sue's Perspective range give a positive and negative die cut and at the moment is my go to set  . It is so versatile. This card uses the negative result and the "Birthday" plaque.
Did any of you go to Glastonbury. My OH would love to go but I prefer to watch it all on tele. Coldplay were brilliant - those wristbands that lit up the sky were amazing.

Ingredients
5x7 card blank
white card

My Oldie for Fffriday

Hello Everyone, another week gone and still no sunshine in my part of the world apart from the wonderful smiles little Oscar gives!
My oldie as inspired by Erika at Snappycrafts. I think you all know the drill and here's my offering. I made this card a couple of years ago and followed a sketch I'd found either on a blog or Pinterest and I think used one of my first Sue Wilson die sets. I decided to not put a sentiment onto the card and kept it in my stash for a while. I can't remember who I sent it to now! Anyway, Salsa tomorrow afternoon which is this venue's third birthday - so a BBQ and Proseco has been promised! All we need will be dry weather. Have a fun week end whatever you're up to
