Oldie for Fffriday

Hello
I know it's Saturday, but I always post on Saturdays. I hope that you are all well. We are very lucky and have beautiful sunshine - cold but sunny. I'm late posting this because I went out with daughter and had nails done. To cut a long story short, we then popped round to see MIL - to find her flat empty... I did panic a little. She's nearly 91 and a bit wobbly on her legs. She's safe , and had decided to get the bus into town! Little monkey!
Today's card, as always has been inspired by ERIKA from Snappy Crafts This is one of the first cards I ever made. Gosh! that must be about 3 or 4 years ago. No matting and layering, no die cutting.
It's funny that now I feel like I HAVE to include some sort of die cutting on all of the cards I make these days, whether it's the mats, an embellishment or the sentiment.
What are you up to this week end? Anything exciting? I need to do a couple of cards  for MIL's birthday. We might go dancing tonight and we're taking MIL out for lunch tomorrow.
Please take care all of you, especially those that are unwell and those that are suffering terrible weather conditions

Ingredients
5x7 card blank
Image from a MCS cd-rom (I can't remember the name)
silver glitter - cheap stuff from John Lewis, you couldn't get the beautiful silky, fine glitter we can get now

The card I made for the Baby Shower

Hello Everyone
Thank you for your comments about the Baby Shower - mum-to-be is still hanging on. She's probably got a couple of weeks left actually.  Just to straighten things a little, I didn't make the cakes, i just wanted to show the beautiful cupcake I was given, it was very tasty! And my daughter is not due until the beginning of April. The card today, is the one I gave to the mother to be.
All of my family and friends know I make and give baby garments. As this mum-to-be doesn't know what she's having I made her this card. I knitted the little jumper" and placed the knitting onto cocktails sticks. I used a Hama bead as the ends of the "knitting needles". I was really pleased that it worked and will do it again either as an I.O.U. card or a New Birth card. I've got Craft Club tonight, nothing much planned for the week end. What about you?

Ingredients
6x6 card blank
Serif to produce a coloured piece of card blended from pink to blue
Serif - Nursery Rhymes digikit for bunting
3ply white baby yarn
2mm knitting needles (2 3/4mm needles would work too)
2x cocktail sticks
Hama beads
CS glue and Pinflair glue gel

Baby Shower photos

Hello everyone. Thank you for your lovely comments on my "Oldie" Today's post is about the baby shower. Having never been to one, although daughter has, I was intrigued.
It was lovely, it took place in a beautiful room at a pub. Coffee and tea on tap (the bar was open!)and beautiful food on offer.
We played silly games like, guess the baby food, what is mum-to-be's waist measurement, a quiz that revolved around the word "baby" and the mum-to-be had to guess us all from the baby photos we took. She didn't do very well at that one! She couldn't pick out her own husband and sister! We had such a laugh. It also gave my daughter and me a chance to catch up with some of the Salsa ladies that we haven't seen for a while, they're either busy with their own children, work or grandchildren. I also include a fabulous gift that my daughter received at a recent Salsa venue. The quality of the photos isn't brilliant and the gift, all made from balloons was wrapped in cellophane.
My cake!

Some of the beautiful cup cakes

My beautiful daughter (on the left)

A pram and baby all made form balloons! It was amazing

Oldie for Ffffriday

Hello everyone
Thank you for your comments on my previous post. I am trying to do more complex layouts nowadays. Well done Wendy L for buying the Pierced Flag die, I use them a lot and I mean a lot! I found this oldie I made for a friend for her granddaughter. I'm not sure if I have posted this before but it's definitely an oldie. Erika at Snappycrafts posts an oldie every Friday (Yes I know it's Saturday, I don't post usually on a Friday).
I'm over my cold and Arthur-itis seems to be taking a break so, I will be going dancing on Sunday afternoon and maybe tomorrow night - that'll depend on what kind of day OH has at work. Lot's of crafting tomorrow! I have a couple of cards - at least three I need for work colleagues that celebrate their birthday's in February and I've borrowed a die from a young friend We've set each other homework which we'll show what we've done when we meet on Monday night at Salsa! Watch this space. Have you noticed that I have been asked to join the Craft Rocket Design Team. I'm thrilled as this will be my first time being on a Team. More about that later and yes i know I haven't shown any of my holiday photos, they'll come. I must get more organised!

Birthday card for a work mate

Hello Everyone
Thank you for popping in and thank you for your lovely comments on my last post. Yes, life is exciting at the moment and hectic! I have had the old aches and pains of Arthur-itis over the past few days and a rotten cold but I'm on the mend

Today, I am showing a card that was inspired by a post at Cotswold Crafter here. There were some amazing cards sent in, so go take a look at the other beautiful makes for this sketch inspiration. I needed to make a card for a work mate and made this
In the past I have made this guy, football themed cards, his favourite film etc etc and really didn't know what to do this time around. So the sketch helped my mojo and I'd just treated myself to this Tonic die. The focal element are the first words of that famous ditty we sing at this occasion. As the Happy Birthday die is quite large I only wrote it once. Next time, I will print more of the verse as well.

Ingredients
8x8 card blank
Serif - Name That Tune digikit
Vintage Gold card
Black card
Sue Wilson - Pierced Flags
Tonic - Rococo - Treble Clef

Take care and stay safe

Happy New Year Everyone

Hello everyone that pops in I am sorry I've not blogged for a while but life really gets in the way. I only work part time but I feel so, so tired. Sleeping isn't brilliant at the moment - thoughts, my mind racing and arthritis. You all know what it can be like.
2016 promises to be an exciting time for me and because of this I intend to blog  but it may be slightly more random than in the past.
So, 2016 is exciting because a) we had a very unexpected raffle prize win (I still can't quite believe it)  a 7 night stay travelling Business Class to Dubai. Never travelled BC, so looking forward to that, b) it's our Ruby wedding in April, c) I will be having a milestone birthday in October and d) the most exciting (and frightening) news of all is that my daughter will become a yummy mummy in April. It will be our first grandchild too!
Today's card was made for friends of ours that got engaged over the Christmas period. I wanted to make a simple card, as like me, they're not teenagers anymore! The focal point is a smaller version of the background. I printed this off twice using Serif to have one image more faded than the other. The plan was to paper piece, the darker image on the inside of the die cut. But the image I chose to use didn't provide enough contrast. Still effective though

Ingredients
5x7 card blank
Serif - Butterfly Garden
Tattered Lace - Starlight Oval die
Lidll - pale blue card
Sentiment printed with a laser printer and foiled with Patsy May Foil It machine

I am so full of cold at the moment that I don't think I'll be venturing very far this week end. On that note I just want to say that my thoughts are with the recent flood victims. It has been awful for them To those unwell or in pain of all descriptions - I sincerely hope things improve for you
